In the last 4 years, I’ve had the pleasure and great comfort in introducing Richy Neill and the reinforcements live on stage, in various venues and rock clubs in Edinburgh. As well as the meadows fest of 2017. I’ve watched them change in members but gain more confidence as performers and musicians. Til eventually we have the band we have right now. They have just recently released their latest brand new E.P. Rise And Fall
One of the things that captures you almost instantly when you listen to the E.P is the amount of energy that comes from the track the same way you would experience seeing them live. Almost like there bursting for you to turn up the volume on your speakers and play it as loud as you possibly could. And that’s just from the opening track.
This E.p. doesn’t give you a chance to stop. It’s grabbing you and shaking you for energy. You won’t be exhausted by this point you will just be partying through the tracks.
The arrangements for each part of the bands accompaniment are well placed out through the tracks. Its doesnt sound cluttered or blotted. Most E.P’s particularly ones of poor recording quality will try and cram everything into one sound and hope to pass the mark. But you can tell by listening to this that each band member going into this genuinely didn’t want to be rushed, didn’t want to cram everything into one space. To do different takes. To use different sounds. It brings a whole new professional quality to an E.P that is very hard to come from.
This is an E.P worth picking up. Five well recorded tracks by five well practiced and confident musicians. And guys that I can call friends as well as band mates. Listen to this E.P. and be ready to hear your favourite band starting out before they make their debut best selling album. Rock and Fuckin Roll!
