Play Time With Emily

On beautiful day in a big house, little Emily lived inside. She wanted so much to go outside and play
but didn’t have any idea on how to make friends or talk to people.
She hadn’t been outside since she was a baby. Then when she turned 4 her parents forbid her to go
outside at all. They wouldn’t even let her play in her own back garden.
But now she’s 7 and ready for adventure. Her mum and dad weren’t around to stop her from having
her first real sense of adventure.
She looks outside her living room window and stares up and the big blue sky, beautiful blooming
flowers in her front garden, and from across the street a girl, who looked Emily’s age.
The girl was skipping down the street all by herself. Emily got so excited when she saw her that she
began to bang on the window to get her attention. The girl stopped and Emily began to wave
excitedly.
But the girl suddenly burst into tears and started screaming and ran away home. What was that scared
her? Emily thought Is there something behind me?
She turns around to find a mirror…without a reflection…in a burnt down house.
